Albuquerque, New Mexico police authorities arrested an 11-year-old after a month-long crime spree that included burglaries, auto thefts, and shootings.
Crime Spree in New Mexico
A crime spree in New Mexico occurred that included auto thefts, burglaries, and shootings. Police authorities immediately responded and arrested an 11-year-old boy, whose name was not revealed due to his age, who was involved in the crime spree in the area.
In a published article in FOX News, the 11-year-old boy was found to be a member of a group of boys who called themselves the “Kia Boyz” and were known to frequent the area. It was also found during the investigation that the crime spree began on May 5, when a Kia Forete was stolen in northeast Albuquerque.
Moreover, the 11-year-old boy will face the following charges:
- Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
- Conspiracy
- Shooting at or from a motor vehicle
- Shooting into an occupied dwelling
- Aggravated battery
- Unlawful passion of a weapon by a minor
- Non-residential burglarly
- Criminal damage to property over $1,000
- Conspiracy to commit a fourth-degree felony

APD Chief Released a Statement
During a press conference, APD Chief Harold Medina expressed his disappointment about the incident. He did not also expect an 11-year-old boy was involved in the month-long crime spree.
He said, “But this armed individual’s behavior was escalating and he was a danger to the community. We need to do something about the toxic mix of guns and social media. Kids need consequences.”
