PMGY – Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana
Housing is the utmost need of the Humans. As every Individual need, a shelter to live, drinking water and Proper sanitation is the basic requirement. A new initiative has been started by the government for the People named as the Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana (PMGY) as the Yojana will ensure the shelter to get one who is incapable to build a House. The Scheme will provide the shelter to the poor people of the rural areas.
Target Group of Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana
Government Scheme will cover the people of the rural areas including the people who belong to the Below Poverty Line and the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled
Tribes. As the scheme will ensure that the Scheme benefits the Right group of people by the division of percentage of the Funds.
PMGY Release of funds
The funds for the scheme will be released by the state and UT as the Joint Venture as the scheme started by the Union Ministry of Finance as with the help of the Ministry of Rural Development. The Installment for the scheme per year depending on the demand of the scheme.
Competent Authority of Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana
The scheme will be implemented by the District Rural Development Agencies (DRDAs)/Zilla Parishads as the house constructed under the scheme will be decided by the panchayat. The Gra Panchayat will be responsible for the Selection of the Eligible families for the scheme. As the list will be prepared by the Panchayat to the Panchayat Samity.
Allotment of Houses under PMGY
The houses under the scheme will be allocated to the female member of the family. The candidate can get the benefit of the scheme on the Joint name of both the Husband and wife. The houses will be built for the individual in the same habitual region of the village. As the facilities of the internal roads, drinking water, drainage system, and water supply would also be ensured. The beneficiaries have the right to make use of the facilities under the scheme. The house would be constructed by the Government organization as it would have no role of any contractor. The supply of the raw material would also be coordinated by the department.
Mode of Implementation Of Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana
The scheme eligible beneficiaries list would be sent to the government of India. Then the state government will e sanctioned the funds for the scheme.
Note-The Cost should not exceed 10 % of the proposed cost and 20% for the conversion of the Kutcha or semi Kutcha house to pucca house.
The proposals received from the State authorities will be sanctioned by a Committee comprising the following: –
1. Secretary (Rural Development) Chairman
2. Additional Secretary and FA (Rural Development) Member
3. Adviser (RD), Planning Commission Member
4. Joint Secretary, (Rural Housing) Member
5. Director in charge of PMGY (GA) Convener
Monitoring of scheme
The reports for the scheme implemented will be prepared by the official designated for the scheme and thereafter submitted to the concerned department.
The report prepared would be sent to the DRDAs/ZPs. Then the report from the district would be sent to the Government of India. Periodic evaluation of the scheme would also be done by the reputed Institutions/Organisations.
